We are happy to announce that Red River Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is now affiliate with Adopt a Cop Program. This program will pay 100% of any active duty patrolling police officer to train until they receive the rank of blue belt.
What is Adopt a Cop? Let us explain. Our police officers have one of the most dangerous jobs out there. They are the first to respond to danger and often need to put themselves in situations that need them to be calm, and be able control a situation, a person or a group of people. Jiu-jitsu teaches us to be calm in very uncomfortable positions while we are out of breath and tired. It also teaches us to think fast, react and get out of a situation before we get caught in a submission (choke, armbar, etc.). We train our bodies and minds almost in a daily basis resulting in a skill that can be translated into the real world, physically and mentally. A police officer needs to have these skills of the mind and body to be able to handle whatever the situation throws at him or her at any moment, and Jiu-jitsu can give them that.
